Hello out there,

About five years ago a new chapter in my life started with the birth of my daughter. She is a depthless source of joy and inspiration to me and after she was born I started drawing again... It had been 12 years since I had. It was a surprise to me that I even had the urge to draw since it had been so long and so much life had taken over. I loved drawing when I was young and don't even really remember why I stopped but when I picked up a pencil again for the purpose of drawing it all came flooding back, I remembered how much I loved art and wanted to keep creating. I am not much of a writer and I'm sure that comes through pretty obviously, but luckily my sister is. She has always been encouraging of my love of art and about four years ago she asked me to illustrate a children's picture book that she had written. I wasn't sure that I could do it since I had never done any cartoon drawing before but I decided to give it a try. It took about four years of trial and error (not continuously because I was taking care of my family) but I finally got the drawings done and we have now published our first children's book. It is based on a sight my sister and her young daughter saw one Christmas waiting for a train while living in Germany. While sitting on a bench on the platform her daughter pointed and excitedly said to my sister "Look! A walking Christmas tree!" sure enough when my sister looked in the direction her daughter was pointing she saw a Christmas tree coming down the stairs to the platform and all she and her daughter could see from the angle they were at was the tree and the persons feet sticking out the bottom of the tree as he carried it. If you have or know any young children they may enjoy this picture book The Walking Christmas Tree by Myrlia Purcell
